Description:
The basic principles, objectives and policies of the Lao Human Rights Council, Inc., include:

• Opposition to human rights violations against Lao and Hmong people in Laos and refugees in Thailand.
• Opposition to forced repatriation ("mandatory return") of refugees.
• To support and promote the human rights and civil rights of the Lao and Hmong people.
• To support and promote freedom of residence and movement of the Lao and Hmong people, in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights and refugee laws.
• To support, promote and defend the right of Lao and Hmong people to political asylum and family reunification.
• To support, promote and defend democracy and freedom.
• Bureau of Information and Documents Center on human rights and refugee issues.
