Description:
The Thai American Chamber of Commerce (TACC) was founded in Houston in the spring of 2000 by myself and a few Thai-Ameican colleagues to promote business opportunities and foster business and cultural relationships between Texas and Thailand.

TACC has collaborated with the Asia Society Texas and the Greater Houston Partnership's business presentations, assisted the Honorary Consul General of Thailand at the Houston International Expo, and participated in a trade mission to Thailand with the Consular Forum 2000 Committee. We are also participating at the NFL FAM Trip on March 3, 2003, hosted by the Super Bowl XXXVIII Host Committee.

TACC also actively participates in the cultural celebrations of the Asian Pacific American community such as the Asian Pacific American Heritage Association's (APAHA) Heritage Parade & Festival during the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in May, the Houston Dragon Boat Festival and the Lunar New Year's celebrations. TACC also participated in the voter's registration drive with other APA communities.

TACC conducts workshops and presentations regarding Thai cultures to further promote awareness of Thailand. TACC works closely with the offices of the Honorary Trade Advisor (HTA) to Thailand's Ministry of Commerce in Texas to assist with the promotion of Thai products and the Mayoral Advisory Board for International Affairs & Development (MABIAD-Asia) to help promote Houston and Texas to Asia.

Membership is free and open to everyone doing business with and/or interested in learning about the cultures of Thailand and business opportunities. We also encourage Thais interested in learning about Houston and the Texas cultures to become members of TACC.

Understanding and acceptance of the differences in cultures through education, participation and partnership will create a lasting business and personal relationships.
