Description:
The Asian American Heritage Association (AAHA) was formed in 1992 to "promote awareness and increase understanding of the Asian American culture and its diversity through education and celebration, focusing on May, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM), and continuing throughout the year." In 1998, the official name of the organization changed to the Asian/Pacific American Heritage Association (APAHA). Co-founded by Martha Wong and Kim Szeto, APAHA continues to grow under the leadership of many outstanding Asian American community leaders. They include Gordon Quan, Esq., Judge Toni Ingverson, Susannah Wong, Alice Lee, Helen Chang, Elizabeth Hwong, Panna Bhatia, Grace Chen Trent, Miriam Issa, and Annie Mak. Some of APAHA's achievements include:

The APAHA is currently overseen by a board of twenty-eight and employs a part-time paid executive director. Volunteer committees are responsible for planning and implementing APAHM activities.
