The corporation, formed on May 21st 1998, was incorporated under the non-profit corporation law of 1988 for the following statement of purpose: We, the Cambodian American living in the United States of America, we are realizing the need to forge unity and cooperation among ourselves, other communities and societies at large; having declined grievously during the past two decades, having gone through suffering and destruction, and having been weakened terribly; convinced that it is only through unity that we shall be able to strengthen the common bonds between Cambodian American, joined together in a common union and common interests to promote education, peace, and prosperity, economic development and to preserve the history of Cambodian sacrifices.
