ThaiLinks was founded in New York City in 2002 to increase awareness on issues affecting Thai communities at home and abroad through art and activism. Programs:
- Thai Takes: Contemporary Thai Film Festival
- Convo with ThaiLinks, bringing together artists, scholars, and community members
- Discussion Groups
- Thai Language Classes
- Art Exhibitions
Members of ThaiLinks form a community of individuals with shared interests and goals:
- To connect and bridge Thai communities locally, nationally, and internationally.
- To promote public awareness and critical dialogue about Thai issues through education and events.
- To support social issues affecting Thai communities.
- To empower and promote the rights of Thais.
- To develop leadership among Thais and Thai-Americans.
- To recognize contributions made by Thais and Thai diaspora.
- To increase appreciation of Thai arts and culture at home and abroad.
ThaiLinks strives to reach these goals by working within the Thai community, promoting internal dialogue, collaborating with other community-based organizations, acting as a resource, and organizing public programs and activities.
