Michigan Asian Indian Family Services (MAIFS) is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3), non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to serving the Asian Indian community in the metropolitan Detroit area.

The mission of the Michigan Asian Indian Family Services is to actively organize, coordinate and support community efforts to enhance the stability and well being of individuals and families of South Asian Indian origin. We will strive to provide to those facing family crisis situations through referral to confidential counseling, legal and medical assistance.

MAIFS offers a wide-range of services including a 24-hour confidential crisis hotline to respond to Asian Indian citizens who need assistance. Trained volunteers and social workers offer prompt confidential counseling within 24 hours and provide appropriate referrals to health, legal, and other professional services.

Additionally, MAIFS offers seminars throughout the year that address timely issues such as: domestic violence, mental health, communicating effectively with teenagers, teenage suicide prevention, the joys and discontent of marriage, Indian cultural heritage, intercultural marriage, and much more.
