Description:
The Cambodian Buddhist Society, Inc. (CBSI) was established to serve as a multi-purpose non-profit community center whose mission is to sustain the legacy of Cambodia through religious and cultural activities while addressing the economic, educational and health needs of Cambodian-Americans. The Cambodian Buddhist Temple located in Silver Spring, Maryland, has become a cultural center for those interested in learning about Cambodia. Classical and folk arts such as dance and music classes are offered. In addition, Cambodian language and citizenship classes are also taught, all our services are offered at no charge. The temple is the facilitator for community involvement through working partnerships with other community-based organization and government agencies. It is the only location in Montgomery County where all Cambodians in the Metro Washington area congregate and gather for social and religious events.
