Description:
The Japan-America Society of Washington (JASW) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, nonpartisan educational and cultural organization of individuals and institutions with an interest in Japan and U.S.-Japan relations. Founded in 1957, it serves as the primary forum in the Mid-Atlantic region for promoting understanding between Americans and Japanese through its cultural, public affairs, and educational programs.

JASW programs reach out to a diverse audience, providing a forum where business, government and community leaders, and the general public are able to meet and discuss issues of concern to both countries in an atmosphere of friendship. The Society's location in the Nation's capital affords opportunities to offer quality speakers and programs on current U.S.-Japan relations as well as future developments. Membership is open to all who are interested.
