Description:
The Filipino American Community Development Council is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization providing support services to seniors, veterans, parents, families, and youth. Began in 1971, by Filipino farmers and cannery workers (often referred to as the "manong generation") who immigrated here in the 1930's and 40's, these men and women recognized a need for a center to socialize and link them to social services in their older years. A couple of years later, they obtained monies to build Northside Community Center (NCC). Today, NCC provides intergenerational support services to the Filipino and Indo American community and others.

NCC services include (but not limited to) case management, housing, veterans services, senior nutrition programs, brown bag, bingo, social dance program, cultural folk dance, tutorial, community forums and technology training.

NCC is currently located at our Alum Rock Branch Office (2352 Alum Rock Ave, San Jose, CA) and Alma Community Center (136 W. Alma Ave, San Jose, CA) until the Grand Opening of our remodeled NCC opens September 2003 at 488 N. 6th Street, San Jose, CA. Services will continue at Alma Community Center post-completion of NCC.
