Description:
Chinese Artist Network (CAN), is a non-profit group that brings together emerging artists with a Chinese background, primarily in contemporary photography. CAN was founded on the Internet by using modern technologies to promote and encourage communication and collaboration among artists. CAN strives to expose the mainstream audience to these emerging artists as well as to attract critics, collectors, and mass media. The mission of CAN is to foster excellence, diversity, vitality and accessibility of the arts by artists with a Chinese background. Through exhibits CAN hopes to position itself as pivotal for contemporary artists with a Chinese background to bring out their potential and to foster recognition.
