Description:
The Asian American Women Artists Association (AAWAA) is a San Francisco Bay Area organization which supports and promotes Asian American women artists in the visual, literary and performing arts. AAWAA was formed in 1989 to create an inter-generational, Pan Asian network for emerging and established artists.

Our organization primarily serves as a spiritual support for one another as fellow artists. As a result of our coming together, we have recognized a need as not only to exhibit our work, but to educate the community about our unique contributions to the Bay Area art movement. To reach this goal we have developed lectures, slide presentations, and panel discussions to present to educational institutions and art groups. In these gatherings we share our cultural identities and individual perspectives.
